Epoxy

Epoxy inspections are performed to verify the hole's depth, diameter, and cleanliness prior to epoxy application. The hole's depth is typically indicated on the approved plans while the diameter is typically 1/8" greater than the diameter of the rod, rebar, anchor, etc. Holes must also be blown and brushed clean to ensure complete adhesion of the epoxy being used. The type and expiration of the epoxy is also verified. The Deputy Inspector does not need to be present for the actual drilling of the holes.

Deputy Inspections for shear walls are required when the required nailing is 4" or less o.c. These inspections are used to verify spacing and size of nails, sheathing type and thickness, anchor bolt and hold down size and spacing, A35/LTP placement, and strap size and location. These inspections are considered "periodic", meaning the Deputy Inspector does not need to be present during the nailing of the walls, but rather, only after completion.

Deputy Inspection and sampling is typically required for concrete placement of 3000 psi or more. A Deputy Inspector must be on site during placement of concrete to verify correct psi of concrete, correct slump of concrete, consolidation of concrete during placement, and the correct reinforcing steel prior to pouring. Concrete cylinders must also be cast by the Deputy Inspector to be sent to our approved lab for testing. The results for these tests will be available for you, the project's engineer, and the city building official.
